WaveLogic Product Management Specialist

This role is for a Product Manager within the WaveLogic Technologies Product Line Management team. The individual will collaborate with a diverse team to define, launch, and manage the lifecycle of Ciena's premier WaveLogic Technologies portfolio. This includes overseeing a new product line that encompasses high-speed ASICs, Electro-Optics, and IP Cores, aimed at addressing the burgeoning demands of data centers driven by AI and compute interconnect needs.
The primary focus will be on Ciena's WaveLogic product line, which includes high-speed ASICs such as Serdes, Retimer, and PAM4 DSP, as well as high-speed electro-optics like Drivers and TIAs, along with IP cores based on foundational WaveLogic technology.
As a member of the WaveLogic Technologies Product Line Management team, you will lead commercialization efforts to ensure that Ciena's high-speed ASICs and related technologies align with evolving market consumption models.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate across Ciena's modem and component teams to establish best practices for marketing high-speed digital and electro-optics components.
- Collect feature requirements from key stakeholders, including end customers and sales teams.
- Work with marketing teams to create product positioning and promotional materials, such as presentations, data sheets, and competitive analyses.
- Partner with product line managers and R&D teams to prioritize features and develop product roadmaps.
- Support sales teams with presentations and responses to RFx inquiries regarding ASICs and components.
- Act as a liaison between engineering and sales/customers.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10%, including international trips for customer engagements and trade shows.
Essential Skills:
- Engineering background with hardware design experience, seeking a transition to a business-oriented role.
- Ability to become a subject matter expert on various interconnect technologies and emerging standards relevant to data center applications.
- Self-driven with a start-up mentality.
- Adaptable to a fast-paced environment with a focus on growth.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; eagerness to develop these abilities further.
Qualifications:
- Education: A technical degree, preferably BSEE or equivalent.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years in relevant fields. Previous experience in Product Management or Technical Marketing is advantageous but not essential.
