Job Summary

As a key member of the Estates team, you will play a crucial role in managing the district's diverse property portfolio, including woodland, open habitats, and built properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage landlord and tenant relationships to complete efficient and timely rent reviews, lease renewals, and new lettings for various property types.
  • Investigate and protect Forestry Commission interests regarding access, encroachments, boundary disputes, and claims.
  • Deal with wayleaves and utility management.
  • Interpret leases from both landlord and tenant perspectives, providing sound professional advice to colleagues.
  • Support the recreation team with existing tenant performance, new tenders, and leases for recreational activities and development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the wider District team to develop ambitious projects, including strategic aims for conservation and land management.
  • Undertake RICS Red Book valuations for financial purposes.
  • Contribute to improving the financial and environmental sustainability of the Estate.
Requirements
  • Chartered status with RICS.
  • Ability to analyze complex estate management issues and develop detailed solutions.
  • Experience in negotiating contract terms, acting on behalf of a landlord or tenant.
  • Leadership experience in rent reviews for residential, commercial, or agricultural properties.
  • Valuation experience across various property types and purposes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook.
