About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at Platinum Produce Company. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Detect and Troubleshoot Irregularities: Identify and resolve issues with machinery and equipment to minimize downtime and optimize production.
  • Repair and Maintain Equipment: Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and replacements of defective parts to ensure optimal performance.
  • Fabricate and Install Parts: Create and install custom parts as needed to support equipment overhauls and maintenance.
  • Perform Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failure and ensure efficient operation.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Work Site Environment: Ability to work at heights and in various work settings.
  • Work Setting: Maintenance, repair, and fabrication of equipment and machinery.
  • Welding Techniques: Proficiency in oxy-acetylene welding (OAW) and other welding techniques.
  • Equipment and Machinery Experience: Familiarity with conveyor systems, electrical and electronic controls, fans and blowers, heat exchangers, hydraulic systems, power tools, pumps and compressors, tool grinders, welding equipment, and hand tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: Previous experience in maintenance and repair is an asset.
  • Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation is required.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a physically demanding environment with attention to detail.
  • Weight Handling: Ability to lift up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
  • Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots are required.
  • Personal Suitability: Excellent oral and written communication skills, team player, and ability to work under pressure.
