About the Role:

The Perenti Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Foreperson to join our team at Barminco. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our underground mining equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and mentor a team of maintenance personnel to ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies to reduce risks and variations, and ensure the required manpower and equipment/tools are in place to achieve planned production.
  • Oversee maintenance schedules and repairs for all mining equipment, and develop workshop standards to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Superintendent to ensure the maintenance team is working effectively and efficiently to meet production targets.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance personnel to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties safely and effectively.

Requirements:

  • Technical diploma or degree in Maintenance/Mechanics field, or equivalent experience.
  • Valid Mechanical/Trades Licenses.
  • Minimum 10 years of mine maintenance experience, including experience with underground and surface equipment.
  • Minimum 5 years in a maintenance supervisory role, with experience mentoring and developing teams.
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP and/or Pronto.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Teams).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment.
