Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accounting Clerk to join our team at Mitchell Metal Recycling Ltd. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Record Keeping
    • Accurately record and reconcile financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
    • Prepare and maintain general ledgers, financial statements, and other accounting reports.
  • Financial Analysis
    • Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
    • Prepare financial forecasts and budgets to support business decision-making.
  • Compliance and Risk Management
    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, laws, and regulations.
    • Identify and mitigate financial risks, including internal controls and audit procedures.
  • Team Support
    • Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff.
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
Requirements
  • Education
    • College diploma or equivalent in accounting or a related field.
  • Experience
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or recycling industry.
  • Skills
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, laws, and regulations.
    • Proficient in accounting software, including general ledger and financial reporting.
    • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
