POSITION OVERVIEW

The Chief People Officer at Kaizen Lab Inc. is tasked with leading the comprehensive human resources functions within the organization. This pivotal role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and is integral to the Executive Leadership Team.

  • Enhance Kaizen Lab Inc.'s ability to cultivate a supportive environment for staff, focusing on effective onboarding and comprehensive workplace policy education.
  • Champion the organization's cultural values, developing and implementing a HEART work culture strategy that defines expected behaviors, engages employees, and facilitates workshops.
  • Take a proactive role in the formulation of a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion policy, strategy, and associated initiatives.
  • Foster employee resilience, retention, and mental wellness programs.
  • Collaborate with sector partners to design training and programs that promote community-oriented care.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and facilitation of diversity and inclusion leadership training and educational initiatives.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Address sensitive matters with empathy across a diverse workforce.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently while adhering to deadlines and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Implement a performance management system alongside other essential talent and culture frameworks.
  • Formulate organizational strategies by identifying and analyzing human resources challenges.
  • Execute human resources strategies by defining departmental responsibilities.
  • Guide a team of HR professionals in alignment with Kaizen Lab Inc.'s organizational objectives.
  • Oversee human resources operations, including recruitment, selection, orientation, training, and coaching of personnel.
  • Develop financial strategies for human resources operations.
  • Achieve special project outcomes by identifying and clarifying priorities and issues.
  • Provide management with human resources guidance and support.
  • Direct management and employee actions through the development of policies and procedures.
  • Maintain an advanced understanding of HR policies and relevant legislation.
  • Enhance job knowledge through participation in conferences and educational opportunities.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in human resource management is essential.
  • Professional certifications such as CPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP are highly desirable.

RELATIONSHIPS

  • Serves as a member of the Executive Team, contributing to strategic planning and execution.
  • Oversees a team of Human Resource Professionals.
  • Collaborates with managers to support their teams.
  • Works with Finance to ensure accuracy in payroll and employee processes.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Standard working hours with occasional evenings and weekends as necessary.
