Application Support Specialist

About the Role:

  • Provide technical and functional support to the trading, sales, and middle office teams.
  • Background: a strong technical foundation, with a preference for candidates with a background in finance or a related field.
  • Schedule: 8 AM to 8 PM, with weekend operations on a rotation basis; no on-call duties; occasional overtime may be required.
  • Responsibilities: handle requests, incidents, releases, QA, and testing tasks, with a focus on 80% production work and 20% projects or tests.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure seamless support.

Required Skills:

  • UNIX and SQL expertise are essential.
  • Windows server experience and proficiency in Java/Python programming languages are desirable.
  • Automation skills are also a plus.
  • Environment: support a diverse range of clients, including traders, sales teams, middle office, and front office staff.
  • Characteristics: motivated, curious, and proactive individuals who ask questions and demonstrate a high level of energy.

Day-to-Day Activities:

  • Conduct morning checks to ensure systems are operational at market opening.
  • Respond to requests and incidents throughout the day.
  • Engage in side projects and initiatives to improve processes and automation.
  • Perform evening checks to follow up with Asia-based teams.

Languages: English is mandatory, with French being a desirable additional language.
