Manufacturing Engineer

About the Role
The Manufacturing Engineer will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of our products, ensuring they meet engineering requirements. As part of the Technical Services team in Montreal, this individual will be responsible for all Aeroderivative Gas Turbine products, including SGT-A65, SGT-A45, SGT-A35, and power turbines.
Key Responsibilities
- Prioritize and resolve daily issues related to assembly and disassembly methods, tooling, inspection techniques, special equipment, and engine test.
- Sentence non-conformance reports within delegated authority and seek approval from specialists when required.
- Represent the Technical Services team in meetings at different levels of the Operations organization, Quality meetings, and meetings discussing corrective/preventive measures.
- Create, maintain, and govern elements of the Technical Package, including Process and Part Qualification, First Article Inspection, and effective change control.
- Develop capabilities, including people, processes, technology, and tools, to meet current and future business requirements consistent with the global strategy.
- Lead or support continuous improvement activities to improve quality, turnaround time, and cost reduction.
- Lead Corrective Action/Preventive Action process for investigations in major quality issues, such as test bed engine return, and provide support to minor quality issues.
Requirements
- Engineering degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, OIQ membership mandatory.
- Extensive years of relevant technical experience.
- Ability to lead meetings and motivate meeting attendees to perform at their highest potential.
- Knowledge of gas turbines and/or industrial equipment, project management, and assembly/manufacturing techniques.
- Good understanding of component definition drawings related to the design intent in the Engine assembly.
- Ability to read, speak, write, understand, and verbally express ideas and instructions in French. A basic understanding of English is complementary to read engineering reports, specifications, component drawings, and assembly drawings.
- Ability to effectively communicate with peers, supervisors, and management personnel.
- Experience in a customer-facing environment. Proven record of delivering technical solutions and improvements is advantageous.
- Proven record of working to processes and procedures.
- Ability to evolve and work in a unionized environment.
