Position: Weld Technologist
Role Overview
- Oversee and assist in research and development initiatives as well as prototyping efforts within the organization.
- Manage projects from start to finish, encompassing timelines, concepts, feasibility studies, design phases, construction, and implementation.
- Compile reports, graphs, and other necessary documentation for engineering records and project tracking.
- Set up, operate, and program sophisticated machinery, including welding apparatus, robotic systems, and laboratory tools.
- Conduct experiments following the directives of the Welding Engineer or Project Coordinator.
- Draft patent submissions.
- Engage in hands-on tasks that may involve heavy lifting for prototyping or R&D experiments.
- Provide support across various divisions and offer product design guidance based on manufacturability considerations.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Welding Engineering Technology or a related field, with at least 3 years of hands-on industry experience.
- Experience with industrial arc, resistance, and laser welding technologies.
- Proficiency in robotic programming (e.g., Fanuc, ABB, Panasonic, Motoman).
- In-depth understanding of welding techniques, standards, and testing protocols.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting.
- Exhibit self-motivation and a strong work ethic.
- Competence in technical report writing.
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of laser operation and safety practices is advantageous.
