Adecco has partnered with a prominent Engineering Consulting firm to hire a Senior Building Science Professional to contribute to innovative projects in Toronto. This role requires over a decade of relevant experience and a deep understanding of building science principles, including building envelope design and analysis. The successful candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high standards of quality and efficiency. Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the design, analysis, and execution of building science engineering projects across different phases of construction and restoration.
  2. Collaborate with architects and project managers to integrate building science principles into design processes for residential and commercial projects.
  3. Conduct on-site visual inspections, performance testing, and investigations of building envelope components, and produce detailed technical reports.
  4. Provide senior-level review of technical documents and project specifications prepared by junior engineers and technologists.
  5. Manage field inspections and reporting for building envelope construction projects.
  6. Stay current with advancements in building science, sustainability, and building code standards.
  7. Prepare engineering proposals and maintain clear communication with clients.
  8. Offer mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members.
  9. Perform additional responsibilities as required.
Requirements:
  1. Degree in Building Science, Architectural, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
  2. Over 10 years of relevant engineering experience in building science projects.
  3. Professional Engineer (P.Eng) license in the Province of Ontario (required).
  4. Proficient in the Ontario Building Code and construction legislation.
  5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working effectively with clients, contractors, and team members.
  6. Exceptional oral and written English communication abilities.
  7. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  8. Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  9. Adaptability and flexibility in managing changing priorities.
  10. Self-motivated and able to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  11. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
  12. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  13. Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  14. Bilingual skills in French and English are advantageous.
  15. Certification in thermography (level 1, 2, or 3) is a plus.

Compensation: Base Salary + Benefits + additional compensation perks depending on experience.
