Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Dietitian to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our Obesity Clinic, you will play a vital role in providing assessment, consultation, and nutrition education to clients and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive patient/client assessments and provide evidence-based nutrition care to clients with high-risk nutritional needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interprofessional team, primary care providers, and clients/families.
  • Provide consultation to staff on client care and nutrition-related issues.
  • Assess learning needs and plan, implement, and evaluate nutrition education programs for staff and clients.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to facilitate the exchange of information and provide comprehensive care to clients.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records and statistical information.
  • Stay current with best practices in community-based nutrition care and participate in research activities as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or Nutrition from an accredited educational institution.
  • Successful completion of a community nutrition or dietetics internship program as approved by Dietitians of Canada (DOC).
  • Two years recent related experience in a community setting focused on medical/surgical weight management.
  • Registration with the College of Dietitians of BC.
  • Valid BC Driver's License and access to a vehicle for business-related purposes.
Competencies
  • Demonstrated ability to complete initial and ongoing client assessments and provide care through therapeutic interventions.
  • Ability to integrate and evaluate pertinent data from multiple sources to problem-solve effectively.
  • Knowledge of clinical practice specific to community-based nutrition care for adults.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively and promote client-focused care.
