Job Title: Cardiology Technologist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiology Technologist to join our team at the University Health Network. As a Cardiology Technologist, you will be responsible for performing cardiac testing procedures, including ECGs, stress testing, and ambulatory BP monitoring. You will work collaboratively with physicians to provide patient intake medical assessments and collect and document patient information in the electronic patient record (Epic). Your attention to detail and ability to analyze tests to create summarized preliminary reports for physicians will be essential in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform cardiac testing procedures, including ECGs, stress testing, and ambulatory BP monitoring
  • Work collaboratively with physicians to provide patient intake medical assessments
  • Collect and document patient information in the electronic patient record (Epic)
  • Analyze tests to create summarized preliminary reports for physicians
  • Confirm all quality control assessments as required
  • Ensure emergency equipment is ready for use at all times
  • Work in alignment with best practices, related policies, and the health and safety legislation, and consider all reasonable precautions
  • Comply to UHN's standards and procedures for appropriate equipment maintenance
  • Manage the efficiency and effectiveness of equipment and instrument performance
  • Support learners in the clinical environment

Qualifications:

  • 2 years of related experience preferred
  • Graduate of a Cardiology program recognized by the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT)
  • Certification with CSCT preferred
  • Current BCLS certificate
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret ECGs, identifying cardiac arrhythmias, and electrocardiographic signs of myocardial ischemia/infarction on ECGs
  • Experience working with the EPIC system is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Committed to continuous education and training
  • Proven problem solving and efficiencies in decision making skills
  • A friendly, empathetic and respectful demeanor, and the ability work independently and collaboratively
