About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mechanic Assistant to join our team at Ironwood Auto Service Ltd. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our heavy equipment and motor vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Tool Management: Safely move and store tools, equipment, and other materials to maintain a well-organized workspace.
  • Support to Tradespersons: Assist tradespersons, apprentices, and other workers as directed, providing a helping hand to ensure projects are completed efficiently.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Clean machines and immediate work areas to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Assistance to Mechanics: Assist mechanics and perform other duties as directed, demonstrating a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Repair and Maintenance: Remove damaged fenders, panels, and grills, and bolt or weld replacement parts into place, ensuring vehicles and equipment are in good working condition.
Area of Work Experience
  • Installation: Assist in the installation of new equipment and vehicles, ensuring all necessary safety protocols are followed.
  • Maintenance: Participate in regular maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and other routine checks.
  • Repair: Assist in the repair of heavy equipment and motor vehicles, using a variety of tools and techniques.
