Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality English language instruction to students of various ages and proficiency levels. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for teaching, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt to diverse learning styles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English language lessons that cater to the needs of different student groups
  • Monitor student progress, provide regular feedback, and promote learner autonomy
  • Contribute to the development, evaluation, and improvement of English language courses, materials, and related services
  • Ensure teaching meets Teaching Excellence Standards and reflects the British Council Statement of Approach
  • Use technology during lessons when required
  • Perform administrative tasks in a timely and accurate manner
  • Contribute to the development of lasting, mutually beneficial relationships by enhancing students' understanding of the contemporary UK
  • Assist in covering classes for colleagues
  • Engage in professional development and performance management to ensure quality and high standards in teaching and learning

Requirements:

  • Cambridge CELTA/Trinity Cert TESOL or recognized equivalent qualification
  • High proficiency in English (CEFR C2)
  • Undergraduate/University degree
  • Experience in teaching adults (400+ hours)
  • Comfortable teaching across different age groups (especially 4-6 and 7-11)
  • Proven experience teaching online
  • Willingness to teach both online and face-to-face
  • Willingness to teach evenings and possibly weekends

Working Conditions:

The successful applicant will be self-employed and will be required to work in a fast-paced environment. Regular attendance at Teaching Team meetings is expected and paid. Participation in training is normally paid in part (external/third-party training) or in full (INSETT) and while INSETT attendance is not mandatory, participation in some form of regular professional development activity is expected.
