Role Overview: The Engineering Manager for the Microelectronics Group will oversee design teams in the strategic planning and execution of developing cutting-edge Optoelectronic and Microelectronic solutions, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints and timelines while fulfilling customer expectations and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Encourage the technical and professional development of the design team.
  • Evaluate staff performance, provide ongoing feedback, and manage the annual performance review process.
  • Assess training needs and develop resource training plans to address knowledge gaps and promote growth in alignment with market trends and technological advancements.
  • Collaborate with the Product Manager and Program Managers, acting as the senior design authority to review and validate estimates, ensuring accuracy, feasibility within the proposed budget, compliance with technical specifications, and timely delivery.
  • Guarantee that the development team adheres to CMC design methodologies and standards throughout project execution, and recommend enhancements for improved efficiency when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a minimum of five years of experience in Optoelectronics and Microelectronics development for commercial and/or military applications.
  • Proven leadership and managerial capabilities, with a strong ability to inspire and guide a team of technical professionals.
  • Experience in preparing and delivering executive-level presentations.
  • Solid understanding of financial principles, risk management, estimation techniques, and industry standards is essential.
  • Bilingual proficiency in both French and English, both spoken and written.
