Qualifications

Work Environment

The position requires working in diverse settings, often as part of a two-person team or convoy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive and operate straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
  • Load and unload cargo efficiently and safely.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of the vehicle, including tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and necessary brake adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate records of cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Ensure the safety and security of cargo through proper tarping techniques.
  • Communicate effectively with central dispatch and relay important information.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Valid Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
  • Air Brakes Endorsement
Documentation Skills

Familiarity with various documentation, including:

  • Accident or incident reports
  • Driver logbook
  • Inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)
  • Maintenance and repair reports

Technical Skills

Proficient in operating GPS and other navigation systems.

Work Conditions

This is a permanent position with a standard work schedule of 40 hours per week. The primary language of work is English.
