Key Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Director of Procurement, you will spearhead the implementation of procurement strategies to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Your role will encompass:
- Designing annual purchasing programs and guidelines.
- Overseeing the procurement team and ensuring adherence to documented policies.
- Utilizing strong negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing, payment terms, and conditions.
Leadership and Management
You will be responsible for:
- Enhancing the operational efficiency of the purchasing department.
- Assigning tasks and coaching team members.
- Conducting performance reviews and fostering employee development.
- Building collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders.
Procurement Management
Your duties will include:
- Managing all procurement activities and developing effective purchasing strategies.
- Monitoring supplier performance through KPIs to ensure quality and service standards.
- Negotiating advantageous pricing and terms with suppliers.
Supply Chain Optimization
You will support the execution of supply chain operations, ensuring:
- Efficient movement of products from vendors to warehouses.
- Best practices in logistics and distribution.
- Analysis and optimization of transportation costs.
Inventory Oversight
Your responsibilities will also include:
- Analyzing inventory levels and ensuring alignment with company metrics.
- Negotiating returns and exchanges with suppliers.
- Identifying and managing obsolete inventory.
Data Integrity and Product Management
You will evaluate vendor performance and product offerings, ensuring:
- Alignment with market conditions and company objectives.
- Accurate maintenance of product data.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain and procurement roles.
- 5+ years of supervisory experience.
- Strong analytical skills and advanced proficiency in Excel.
