About the Role:

As a Mental Health Therapist with Alberta Health Services, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to individuals experiencing mental health difficulties. This position requires a strong understanding of evidence-informed practices and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management, and treatment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions to clients experiencing mental health challenges
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans to address client needs
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners to enhance service delivery
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices and evidence-informed treatments to ensure high-quality care

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Nursing with training and experience in mental health assessment and psychotherapy
  • Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of local Indigenous communities and experience in Indigenous culture
  • Understanding of the politically sensitive nature of working with multiple culturally diverse individuals and groups
