About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Bookkeeper to join our team at Oyster Freight Services Inc. as a permanent employee. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and performing various accounting tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and other financial documents.
  • Accounting Tasks: Perform various accounting tasks, including preparing cheques for payroll, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial statements.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports to management, including trial balances, income statements, and balance sheets.
  • Accounting Software: Utilize accounting software to perform various tasks, including data entry, invoicing, and reconciliations.
  • MS Excel: Use MS Excel to perform financial analysis, create budgets, and track expenses.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
  • Skills: Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 35 to 40 hours per week.
