About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Director, Inspections. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting inspections of audit firms to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections of audit firms to assess their compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain control of assigned inspection work, including meeting deadlines and conducting the inspection in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Foster professional, productive, and respectful working relationships with colleagues, the firms, and other external stakeholders.
  • Prepare high-quality written reports.
  • Participate in inspection projects aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of CPAB's inspection processes.
  • Support stakeholder engagement and thought leadership initiatives.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 10 years progressive public company accounting and audit experience at a Big Four or other national accounting firm.
  • CPA designation is required.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of IFRS and Canadian Auditing Standards; US GAAP is also an asset.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to travel, approximately up to 6 weeks per year.
