Join Our Team as a Glass Installation Specialist

M&T Glass is seeking a dedicated and skilled Glass Installation Specialist to enhance our team. The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in the glazing industry and demonstrate a commitment to exceptional craftsmanship.

Position Overview

This is a permanent role offering between 30 to 42.5 hours of work per week. Proficiency in English or French is required, and while no formal education is necessary, experience in glass installation is highly valued.

Work Environment
  • Engagement in outdoor tasks
  • Working at elevated heights
Work Setting
  • Involvement in historical restoration projects
  • Experience in various sectors including commercial, industrial, institutional, residential, and retail
Key Responsibilities
  • Assess requirements for glass, frames, and materials
  • Interpret blueprints and technical specifications
  • Accurately measure, mark, and cut glass
  • Assemble and install various glass products
  • Estimate costs and material needs
  • Oversee the work of other team members
  • Provide guidance to apprentices
Required Certifications and Training
  • Certification for working at heights
  • Training in Occupational Health and Safety
Materials and Equipment Used
  • Types of glass: Acrylic plexiglass, Float glass, Mirrors, Sealed units
  • Frame fabrication components: Curtain walls, Aluminum framing members
  • Glass cutting tools: Cutting wheels, Circular cutters, Edge glass plates
  • Specialized installation items: Skylights, Stained glass, Aluminum storefronts, Shower doors
