Loss Prevention Specialist

Loblaw Companies Limited is seeking a dedicated Asset Protection Representative to safeguard our retail assets and contribute to a secure shopping environment for our valued customers.
As an integral member of our team, you will play a crucial role in minimizing losses and promoting asset protection awareness within our stores. Your expertise in security and investigation will directly impact our financial performance by reducing theft and enhancing profitability.
Your Responsibilities:- Proactively deter, detect, and apprehend individuals engaging in theft or fraudulent activities at retail locations.
- Collaborate with fellow Asset Protection Representatives on cases involving regional or national shoplifting networks.
- Maintain strong relationships with local law enforcement agencies to ensure effective coordination and information sharing.
- Conduct thorough internal investigations, gathering compelling evidence for legal proceedings or arbitration.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen loss management practices within our established operational compliance standards.
- Cultivate positive partnerships with store personnel through regular meetings and interactions. Provide comprehensive training on asset protection policies and procedures.
- Participate in store audits to assess security measures and identify areas for improvement.
- Engage with the community by attending relevant events to raise awareness about asset protection initiatives.
- Demonstrate flexibility by being available to work various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Maintain a consistent 40-hour workweek as approved by your manager.
- Possess a valid provincial security agent license.
- Demonstrate a fundamental understanding of the Canadian Criminal Code, Trespass to Property Act, arrest powers, surveillance systems, and proficiency in basic Windows applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Exhibit a professional, friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Possess a high level of initiative and integrity to excel in a dynamic environment.
