About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Facilities and Operations to join our team at Pursuit Collection. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the overall direction and management of our maintenance department, ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and maintenance services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Direct and manage the maintenance operations, including leadership, mentorship, and supervision of maintenance staff.
  • Safety and Risk Management: Maintain Pursuit's safety standards and actively participate in the Health and Safety team.
  • Facilities Management: Routinely inspect interior and exterior spaces, equipment, and work completed to ensure high standards of maintenance and upkeep.
  • Capital and Operating Budgets: Create and manage annual capital and operating budgets and monthly forecasts in collaboration with relevant department heads.
  • Department Expenses and Labor: Manage department expenses and labor, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Team Development: Recruit, hire, train, teach, and develop maintenance team members, and plan for succession.
  • Culture and Engagement: Create a safe and engaged culture in the team and contribute positively to hospitality operations.
  • Supplier and Partner Management: Develop relationships with suppliers and partners to ensure timely, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of services.
  • Project Management: Manage large projects from beginning to end, ensuring successful completion and minimal disruption to operations.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with Hotel Managers for maintenance of hotels and commercial tenants, and with the Jasper Housing Team for maintenance of Jasper Staff Accommodations.
  • Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor and maintain all building systems, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Reporting and Tracking: Track and report weekly all maintenance issues and potential risks, ensuring prompt attention and resolution.
  • Emergency Response: Be on call for emergency response, providing prompt and effective support as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Knowledge and Experience: Proven knowledge of boilers, HVAC, building controls, and maintenance operations. Experience in a similar role, preferably in a hospitality environment.
  • Leadership and Management: Proven ability to lead projects, manage teams, and develop staff. Experience in a leadership role, preferably in a hospitality environment.
  • Administrative Skills: Strong administrative skills, including financial acumen and ability to manage budgets and forecasts.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with staff, suppliers, and partners.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of tools, procedures, technical skills, and safety rules used in maintenance and repair.
  • Organizational and Time Management Skills: Good organizational and time management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
  • Confidentiality and Discretion: Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and discretion, particularly in sensitive or confidential matters.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to perform light lifting and carrying, and work a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Certified Pool Operator Certificate (or willingness to do the training shortly after starting), and valid Driver's License.
