About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Trade Policy Analyst to join our team at the Government of Saskatchewan. As a key member of our Trade Policy Unit, you will play a critical role in advancing Saskatchewan's interests in trade policy, including negotiation and implementation of trade agreements, market access, and trade disputes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent Saskatchewan on Federal-Provincial-Territorial committees and collaborate with other jurisdictions to advance Saskatchewan's trade priorities.
  • Facilitate collaboration with other ministries and agencies, conduct research, and provide analysis and advice on Saskatchewan's interests related to trade agreement negotiation and implementation, and other policy matters that impact trade.
  • Open markets for Saskatchewan exporters through dispute resolution procedures in international and internal trade agreements.
  • Advise and collaborate with other ministries and agencies to advance their objectives consistent with Saskatchewan's trade obligations.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication skills to explain complex policy issues clearly and credibly to a variety of audiences.
  • Interpersonal and negotiation skills to advance government objectives in interprovincial, federal-provincial-territorial, and international forums.
  • Research and strategic thinking skills to analyze issues, identify options, solutions, and implications for Saskatchewan and make recommendations.
  • Knowledge of the Saskatchewan economy, its industrial and resource base, and its trade and investment capabilities and requirements.
