Job Responsibilities:
- Menu Execution: Finalize dishes according to company guidelines, ensuring that every plate meets our high standards.
- Kitchen Operations: Utilize and maintain knowledge of all kitchen equipment, including coal barbecue, to ensure seamless food preparation and presentation.
- Team Supervision: Supervise the work of line cooks to guarantee that all tasks are completed on time, ensuring a smooth and efficient kitchen environment.
- Inventory Management: Ensure that all cook stations are adequately stocked with necessary meal ingredients and equipment, minimizing waste and optimizing productivity.
- Cleanliness and Sanitation: Maintain a clean and sanitized kitchen environment, adhering to standard food rotation practices to reduce food wastage and minimize the risk of contamination.
- Quality Control: Assess the quality of delivered food supplies to ensure that they meet our standards.
- Minimum Hours and Tips: Work a minimum of 4 hours per shift, with opportunities for additional hours and tips.
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Culinary Skills: Proven cooking experience and presentation/plating skills.
- Tools and Equipment: Bring your own tools for work.
- Culinary Education: A bachelor's or associate's degree in culinary arts is advantageous.
- Food Safety: Possess a food handler's license and sound knowledge of food health and safety regulations.
- Teamwork and Communication: Demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
Job Procedure:
- Pre-Event Preparation: Arrive at the location in time to prepare for the event.
- Food Receipt and Storage: Offload food with the help of other team members and store it in the specified area to ensure safety.
- Menu Verification: Double-check that all food received matches the menu, and contact the head chef if necessary.
- Equipment Check: Verify that all necessary equipment is available for the event.
- Cleanliness and Hygiene: Maintain a clean and sanitized environment, washing hands and wearing gloves as needed.
- Event Coordination: Coordinate with service staff and adhere to event times for service, clean-up, and take-down.
- Finalizing Dishes: Finalize dishes according to Parlato's food guidelines.
- Team Coordination: Coordinate with other kitchen staff to deliver on-time dishes and exceptional presentation.
- Flexibility: Be available to work in different locations.
