We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our Engineering & Construction Services (ECS) Division. As a key member of our team, you will provide project management, technical expertise, and engineering knowledge on the planning, design, and construction of the City's most complex bridge infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a variety of assigned engineering projects, with responsibility for project management of ongoing or annual City-wide engineering programs and special projects.
- Direct multi-disciplinary project team staff, mentor other professional engineers, assist in preparing budgets, perform site inspections, ensure compliance, finalize contract payments, and implement quality control/quality assurance for construction.
- Conduct research into your assigned area, providing specialized design services and technical advice to support varied units.
- Formulate recommendations based on your analysis of continuous improvement measures for quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of services.
- Represent the Division at meetings and establish linkages to other units in the City to ensure effective partnerships.
- Completion of post-secondary education degree or diploma in civil and/or structural engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Extensive experience in civil and structural engineering principles and construction practices.
- Extensive project management experience from inception to implementation.
- Considerable experience in developing reports, RFPs/proposals, and presentations.
- Considerable experience in client management and communicating with diverse stakeholders.
- Registration with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) or equivalent licensing.
