Facilities Maintenance Technician (Full Time)
As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our community members. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all facilities and equipment are well-maintained and functioning optimally. You will also be tasked with upholding the cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of the grounds and communal areas. Your commitment and enthusiasm towards your responsibilities will instill confidence in residents, assuring them that their living environment is secure and well-cared for. Additionally, you will be expected to respond swiftly to any maintenance inquiries.
Required Qualifications and Requirements
1. Completion of high school or equivalent. Preference will be given to candidates with education related to building maintenance or a comparable combination of technical training and experience in the field.
A minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role with a solid understanding of maintenance procedures.
A 5th class power engineering certificate is preferred.
2. Proven experience and knowledge to safely execute assigned maintenance tasks.
3. Strong oral and written communication skills regarding maintenance protocols.
4. Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
5. High level of precision and attention to detail.
6. Proficient in operating standard office equipment (e.g., calculator, fax machine, photocopiers, computer, telephones).
7. Valid driver's license is required.
8. Professional appearance and hygiene are essential.
Essential Functions
1. Ability to read and write in English and follow both oral and written instructions.
2. Must be capable of completing necessary paperwork and filing with a high degree of accuracy.
3. Physically fit to perform tasks such as turning, stooping, bending, stretching, climbing ladders (working at heights), moving equipment, and other related activities, while ensuring safety in an infection-controlled environment.
4. Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
5. Must be able to traverse the campus to perform maintenance duties.
6. Must be able to clearly explain policies and procedures to potential residents, families, and staff.
7. After receiving appropriate training, must be able to operate standard maintenance equipment for facility and grounds upkeep.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Including, but not limited to the following:
1. Execute maintenance tasks as required.
2. Willingness to adhere to instructions from management.
3. Assist in the routine upkeep of the community.
4. Provide repair and renovation services as requested within the community.
5. Maintain cleanliness of sidewalks, streets, roads, and community grounds.
6. Conduct cleaning, snow removal, and landscaping activities.
7. Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Upon receiving a Job Requisition Slip, review with the supervisor regarding any concerns or issues.
8. Upon completion of tasks, document the date completed and return slips to the supervisor.
9. Equipment and Cleaning Checklist: submit completed checklist to the supervisor and retain a copy for maintenance records.
10. Attend committee meetings focused on maintaining a safe working environment.
11. Participate in Departmental Meetings.
12. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, regarding safe maintenance practices.
13. Uphold the highest standards of preventative and building maintenance quality and safety, ensuring those standards are consistently met.
14. Foster a customer service-oriented approach by responding promptly and effectively to resident needs and concerns.
The final candidate must provide a clear police check.
