Position Overview
We are offering permanent, full-time positions for Firefighters within the YVR Fire & Rescue Department. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety of travelers and the surrounding community. As a Firefighter, you will work alongside a team of dedicated professionals, utilizing state-of-the-art vehicles and equipment to address a variety of challenges, including aircraft emergencies, medical first response, airside inspections, and snow and ice management.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver fire, medical, and hazardous material response services to the airport community.
- Engage in training programs to uphold the highest service standards, ensuring the acquisition and enhancement of skills necessary to serve our customers, community, stakeholders, and colleagues.
- Complete Emergency Medical Assistant First Responder III training.
- Successfully pass a firefighter candidate medical assessment that meets NFPA 1582 criteria prior to employment.
- Be prepared to travel outside of Canada for extended training sessions.
- Maintain a Class 3 BC Driver's License with a clean driving record.

Work Environment
This position requires shift work, as the YVR Fire and Rescue Department operates continuously, 24 hours a day. Due to the on-call nature of the role, employees must reside in a location that allows for a prompt response to the Airport.
