Position Overview:
We are in search of a seasoned Civil Engineer with expertise in Civil & Structural Engineering to join our Project Management team. The Project Management Teams are responsible for delivering top-tier capital projects, ensuring they are executed safely, on time, within budget, and uphold the highest standards of integrity and compliance. This role involves overseeing engineering design, procurement, and construction of projects ranging from small-scale to multi-billion-dollar initiatives. The primary responsibility of the Civil Engineer is to guarantee that all engineering design, procurement, construction, and project completion align with project objectives and contractual obligations, including schedule, cost, health, safety, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee capital projects to ensure adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
- Conduct complex technical and administrative tasks related to the design and coordination of civil and structural packages.
- Provide technical insights and review designs throughout the construction and commissioning phases.
- Address technical challenges throughout all project phases related to civil and structural components.
- Manage project development tasks, including engineering studies, technical bid evaluations, and detailed designs.
- Ensure civil and structural designs comply with established standards and specifications.
- Supervise design contractor activities during project phases, including scope definition and scheduling.
- Stay informed on international project procedures, engineering phases, and best practices.
- Understand contract documents, project execution plans, and change management processes to ensure timely project completion.
- Review contractor activities during construction to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Contribute to the development of civil and structural deliverables, including plans and assessments.
- Provide input on the selection and procurement of civil and structural materials.
- Assist in defining change order scopes and cost estimations.
- Monitor project progress and review contractor invoices and submissions.
- Implement company initiatives during project execution and report on project status.
- Review modifications to civil and structural designs as necessary.
- Offer ongoing civil and structural support to facilities.
- Develop and review testing procedures for civil and structural packages.
Qualifications:
- Willingness to relocate permanently.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited institution; advanced degrees are preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in the oil, gas, and refining sectors, with a focus on Civil & Structural Engineering, including at least five years of field experience.
- Expertise in Civil & Structural Engineering.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Experience in engineering design and construction phases, with knowledge of international codes and standards.
- Proactive attitude towards project enhancements and cost savings; PMP certification is a plus.
- Ability to work in diverse teams and adapt to various locations as required.
