Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Metal Cleaning Equipment: Safely operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale, and other materials from metal products.
  • Assist Fabrication Team: Assist structural steel and platework fitters, sheet metal workers, metal machine operators, or other metal workers in the fabrication process.
  • Sort and Organize Materials: Sort metal sheets and parts, scrap metal, and other materials to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Grind and Chip Excess Metal: Grind or chip excess metal from metal products using hand tools to achieve a high-quality finish.
  • Clean Work Areas: Clean machines and immediate work areas to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Load and Unload Vehicles: Load and unload vehicles with metal products and equipment.
  • Polish Metal Products: Polish metal products to a mirror finish to meet customer requirements.
  • Read and Interpret Work Orders: Read and interpret work orders to ensure accurate completion of tasks.
Work Environment

As a Welder Assistant at Bura Limited, you will work in a fast-paced environment with a physically demanding workload. You will be required to stand for extended periods, handle heavy loads, and work in a dusty and hot environment.

Requirements
  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding work environment requiring manual dexterity, attention to detail, and ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Weight Handling: Ability to lift up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs) and handle heavy loads.
  • Personal Suitability: Dependability, reliability, and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Experience: Experience in a similar role is an asset, but not required.
