We are seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team as a Vice-Principal. The successful candidate will have a strong background in education leadership and a commitment to student-centered, strength-based, and holistic teaching approaches.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement educational programs that promote land-based, experiential learning and support inclusive education
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and community members to create a supportive and respectful learning environment
- Provide guidance and support to teachers in implementing restorative practices and positive behavioral interventions
- Work closely with the Liard First Nation government, Daylu Dena Council, and community Elders to develop and maintain strong relationships and trust with students, families, and the community
- Stay up-to-date with educational best practices and implement effective support systems to assist at-risk students
- Bachelor of Education or equivalent
- Experience in educational leadership and teaching in a rural First Nation community
- Strong knowledge of Dene language and culture, with a willingness to learn and grow
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships with students, families, and community members
