The Imaging Informatics Specialist plays a crucial role within the Scarborough Health Network (SHN) Diagnostic Imaging Program, reporting directly to the Director of Diagnostic Imaging/Laboratory Services. This position is responsible for managing the workflow design of the department and overseeing the integrity of the RIS (Meditech) and Agfa PACS systems, which are essential for picture archiving and communication.

Key duties include:

  • Submitting budget requests for RIS/PACS related equipment.
  • Resolving technical issues and generating reports.
  • Providing training to staff on system usage.

In collaboration with the Diagnostic Imaging Team, which includes Radiologists, Managers, and IT personnel, the Imaging Informatics Specialist will ensure the effective operation and maintenance of the RIS/PACS systems. This role also involves acting as a liaison for digital imaging initiatives across various departments to meet patient and corporate objectives.

Qualifications:
  • Preferred M.R.T. and PACS Certification.
  • Membership in C.A.M.R.T. with multi-modality experience is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • 1-3 years of experience with PACS and familiarity with diagnostic workstation technology or IT.
  • Understanding of RIS functionality and DICOM standards.
  • Knowledge of IT networking topology.
  • Experience in system troubleshooting and workflow mapping.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under pressure.
  • Self-motivated with minimal supervision required.
  • Strong project management and conflict resolution skills.
