Job Summary

Bulk Carriers (P.E.I.) Limited is seeking a skilled Long Haul Tractor-Trailer Driver to join our team. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer to transport goods and materials across the country.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and Maintain Equipment: Safely operate a tractor-trailer to transport goods and materials, and perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
  • Transport Goods: Load and unload goods, and transport them to their destination in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Comply with Regulations: Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes, and comply with all relevant regulations and laws.
  • Communicate with Dispatch: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, and maintain open communication with the transportation team.
  • Record Keeping: Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, and maintain accurate records of all transportation activities.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this position.
  • Experience: Experience is an asset, but not required.
  • Certifications: Air Brake (Z) Endorsement and a valid Driver's License (Class 1 or A) are required.
  • Language: English is the primary language spoken in this role.

  • Work Environment: This is an on-the-road job, and you will be required to work in a variety of environments, including inclement weather.
  • Physical Demands: This role requires a high level of physical fitness, and you will be required to lift heavy loads and work in a fast-paced environment.
