GENERAL FUNCTION
The Licensed Optician plays a crucial role in attracting and retaining clientele by providing an outstanding customer experience, enhancing customer loyalty, and ensuring high levels of satisfaction among associates and doctors.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The key responsibilities include:
- Driving profitable sales by cultivating a retail-oriented culture and employing effective sales techniques.
- Building professional relationships with fellow associates and healthcare providers.
- Accurately filling eyeglass prescriptions and fitting lenses and frames, which involves: Evaluating prescriptions alongside customer needs; Asking relevant lifestyle questions to assess vision requirements; Suggesting appropriate lenses, coatings, and frames; Assisting customers in frame selection while coordinating with optical measurements and prescriptions; Conducting precise measurements using appropriate tools; Resolving vision-related issues to ensure customer satisfaction; Training new associates on frame and lens selection.
- Assisting in maintaining effective merchandising and presentation of the store according to company standards.
- Ensuring quality through accurate measurements, pricing, point-of-sale entries, and realistic delivery timelines.
- Maximizing opportunities with Managed Vision Care.
- Supporting the timely execution of approved marketing initiatives and adhering to company standards for promotions and signage.
BASIC (REQUIRED) QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- State licensure or certification as an optician from a recognized opticianry association.
- Experience in a retail or customer service environment.
- Proven ability to utilize sales skills and take responsibility for sales outcomes.
- Capacity to present and implement effective solutions to enhance business growth.
- Strong communication skills to meet and exceed customer expectations while fostering positive relationships.
- Attention to detail and success in store merchandising.
- Ability to prioritize tasks with adaptability and a proactive approach.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in retail management.
- Over 3 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency with personal computers.
