Control Systems Engineering Instructor

About the Role

The University of Ottawa is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Part-Time Professor to deliver an engaging and informative course in Control Systems Engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver lectures and tutorials on advanced control systems concepts, including state space modeling, controllability, observability, pole placement techniques, and optimal control.
  • Develop and implement engaging teaching materials to facilitate student learning.
  • Assess student understanding through exams, assignments, and class participation.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students on their academic performance.
  • Maintain a positive and supportive learning environment for all students.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated expertise in control systems engineering, evidenced by teaching experience or relevant work experience.
  • Possession of a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license.
  • A doctorate degree in a related field is preferred, but extensive relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a Ph.D.

Additional Information:

This part-time position requires attendance at weekly tutorials and includes compensation for 52 hours of teaching duties.

The course will be delivered in person.
