YOUR ROLE IN COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS
Are you skilled in fostering relationships with a diverse array of stakeholders and community members through a lens of health equity? Do you have a passion for delivering outstanding healthcare and a commitment to supporting others?
UNAVAILABLE is seeking a knowledgeable program coordinator who possesses a comprehensive understanding of engagement methodologies, strategies, and the technical expertise necessary for the planning, execution, and assessment of engagement initiatives for both internal and external stakeholders.
The Community Engagement Coordinator will lead patient engagement efforts within healthcare communities and throughout the province, facilitating advisory groups, focus groups, gathering patient feedback, implementing experience-based co-design, and conducting patient-centered evaluations.
In response to engagement requests from colleagues across the organization, you will conduct various engagement activities, including virtual group sessions and one-on-one outreach, to encourage participation and gather insights for program development and quality enhancement initiatives.
Your responsibilities will include organizing meetings, preparing presentation materials, and delivering presentations to community groups and partner organizations, while also supporting various engagement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect, analyze, and present engagement feedback data.
- Identify and recruit community members with lived experiences for participation in engagement forums and activities.
- Establish formal and informal communication channels with patients, families, and caregivers to gather feedback on healthcare system performance and improve processes and tools.
- Identify areas in planning and design processes where patients, families, and caregivers have not had opportunities for involvement, and assist colleagues in creating feedback opportunities.
- Support broader engagement efforts with Indigenous, Francophone, and underrepresented communities.
Qualifications:
A degree, certificate, or diploma in community or social services, healthcare, general administration, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience) is required.
You should demonstrate the ability to engage and connect with a diverse group of providers and community members through a health equity perspective.
A solid understanding of engagement principles, strategies, and the technical skills necessary for planning, executing, and evaluating engagement initiatives for various audiences is essential.
Familiarity with current trends in engagement planning and tactics, including both in-person and virtual engagement sessions, is important.
A good understanding of engagement policies and procedures, as well as a commitment to patient and family-centered care philosophies, is expected.
Experience working with Indigenous, Francophone, racialized, Two-Spirit and LGBTQIA+, disabled, and other underserved communities is highly valued.
Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.
Benefits:
Membership in a premier defined benefit pension plan.
Flexible work location options are available.
UNAVAILABLE is dedicated to serving every individual in the community. We collaborate with patients and caregivers, healthcare providers, hospitals, long-term care facilities, service providers, and health teams to deliver responsive, accessible, integrated, and patient-centered care.
Commitment to Equity, Inclusion, Diversity, and Anti-Racism:
UNAVAILABLE is committed to fostering a culture of equity, inclusion, diversity, and anti-racism. We strive to attract, engage, and develop a workforce that reflects the diverse communities we serve. Accommodations for individuals with disabilities during the recruitment process are available upon request.
