Job Title: Financial Aid Advisor

Reporting to the Manager, Financial Aid, the Financial Aid Advisor plays a crucial role in the administration of the Canada-Ontario Student Loan Program (OSAP). As a key point of contact for financial aid inquiries, the incumbent provides guidance and advice to students on funding programs, eligibility requirements, and opportunities for intervention in the financial aid approval process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process OSAP applications and supporting documentation
  • Monitor the OSAP portal to support the timely release of funds
  • Identify funding applications for possible review/reassessment
  • Provide advice to students on budgeting and financial planning
  • Work closely with Financial Aid Officers and the Manager to contribute to the successful operations of the financial aid office
Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess a 2-year diploma in Public Relations, Accounting, or Business or equivalent. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a customer service environment, including working with customers in difficult situations, is also required. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to work effectively with the Microsoft Office Suite, email, and telephone.
