Job Title: Director, Data Management

Stonewood Group Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Data Management to lead our integrated communications systems engineering team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of our shipboard communications systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Derive and develop requirements and specifications for our communications systems
  • Review customer requirements and specifications to develop top-level performance specifications
  • Prepare system-level specifications and drawings
  • Conduct system-level trade studies to develop an optimal solution
  • Prepare interface requirements specifications and interface control drawings
  • Develop and implement project system engineering data deliverables
  • Lead reviews with internal and external customers and implement corrective actions as required
  • Oversee the development of test plans to verify and validate requirements
  • Supervise system and subsystem validation and verification tests
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering with 10 years of professional experience in designing and developing ship's communications systems and network engineering-related projects
  • Ability to diagnose and correct software/hardware/mechanical integration problems
  • Familiarity with systems tools and off-the-shelf packages that can be utilized for system development
  • Sound working knowledge of life cycle models, software, hardware, and system design processes
  • Good knowledge of integrated communications systems and their hardware and software components
Preferred Experience and Education:
  • Project engineering experience with demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals
  • Strong proposal, technical, and specification writing skills
  • Advanced operational familiarity with shipboard communications systems
  • Experience in integrated external/internal communications systems design in the marine environment
