Job Title: Telecommunication Network Technician
About the Role
Groupe TVA is seeking a highly skilled Telecommunication Network Technician to join our team. As a key member of our technical staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and quality of our telecommunication networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on telecommunication networks, including branch lines, distribution lines, and trunk lines.
- Ensure the coordinated execution of maintenance, repair, or verification of the HFC (Hybrid Fiber Coaxial) network.
- Analyze reception issues at customer sites, restore service, and adjust peripheral devices as needed to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Identify causes of breakdowns and perform repairs promptly. Carry out corrective and preventive maintenance on the HFC network and any other signal quality issues according to established standards.
- Report maintenance and repair needs to the relevant parties when standards cannot be met.
- Execute equipment installation, coaxial cable laying, disconnection, or retrieval tasks at customer sites according to standards.
- Complete necessary reports and forms associated with the job. Follow current processes and procedures.
- Responsible for assigned tools and equipment, adhering to fleet policies and safety standards.
- Drive a Company vehicle following road regulations and safety rules.
- Identify and resolve mainline breakdowns, distribution or telecommunication network issues promptly when on standby duty.
- Participate in the operation of new sectors, modernization of telecommunication and/or HFC distribution networks.
- Occasionally participate in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, operation, and modernization of secondary line heads and reception sites. Provide maintenance and verification reports related to these operations.
- Assist in training employees with described responsibilities.
- Perform any other related tasks linked to the job responsibilities.
Requirements
- Diploma in electronics or equivalent
- Two (2) years of relevant experience in telecommunication and/or distribution
- Completion of specialized training in telecommunication and/or distribution such as NCTI or another recognized equivalent course
- Ability to attend general safety training on construction sites and obtain a competency card from a recognized organization
- Possession of a valid and appropriate driver's license
- Organized and team-oriented with excellent physical condition
- Good knowledge of French and English, with ease in communication
