We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Area Manager to join our team at the Government of Canada - Western. As an Area Manager, you will be responsible for managing staff, assigning duties, and determining merchandise and services to be sold.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage staff and assign duties to ensure efficient store operations
  • Determine merchandise and services to be sold, including inventory control and pricing strategies
  • Implement price and credits policies, and develop and implement marketing strategies to drive sales
  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily operations to ensure high-quality customer service
  • Recruit, hire, and supervise staff and/or volunteers to meet staffing requirements
Requirements:
  • 5-10 years of experience in retail management, with a focus on staff management and customer service
  • Proven track record of success in managing multiple locations and teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, customers, and stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions and drive results
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with tight deadlines and multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Experience with accounting software, word processing software, database software, and inventory control software
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel
