Metro is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Meat Department Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our meat department, you will be responsible for supervising, directing, and motivating staff to ensure exceptional customer service and product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and train staff to ensure they are knowledgeable about products and services.
  • Receive, price, stock, rotate, and merchandise products to ensure maximum visibility and sales.
  • Order a full range of products and assist in taking inventory to ensure accurate stock levels.
  • Implement and ensure adherence to customer service policies and procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures, as well as government regulations concerning health and safety, sanitation, and security.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum 2 years' meat cutting/supervisory experience, including excellent product knowledge and rotation, merchandising, ordering, and inventory control experience.
  • Superior customer service, supervisory, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Capable of standing for a prolonged period of 4-8 hours, bending, twisting, and turning, reaching, lifting up to 85 lbs., and working in refrigerated conditions.
  • Available to work 40 hours per week, up to 3 evenings per week, 5 shifts, with Saturday and Sunday as part of the regular work week.
