A robust Business Continuity Program is essential for any organization to sustain critical operations, prepare for emerging risks, and mitigate the impact of disruptive events on customers and employees. The Business Continuity Management Unit (BCMU) Specialist plays a pivotal role in the success of this program, ensuring that specific individual objectives, plans, and initiatives are effectively executed in alignment with the team's business strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster a customer-centric culture to strengthen client relationships and leverage broader organizational connections, systems, and knowledge.
- Provide insights and recommendations to Relationship Managers and Planners in accordance with BCM Policy, BCMU Mandate, and industry best practices.
- Conduct health assessments on plans in preparation for semi-annual reporting and maintain documentation to ensure accurate reporting.
- Review and confirm compliance with regulatory requirements regarding recovery time objectives.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders across the organization to implement a governance framework that encompasses the entire business continuity lifecycle, including the development and enhancement of business continuity management programs and systems.
- Support the Senior Manager and Director of the BCMU as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), focusing on the ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement of the Business Continuity Management function.
- Lead and work with internal and external stakeholders on processes related to Business Continuity Management, aiming to achieve an improved operational state by: 1) Contributing to and/or reviewing BCM materials and documents, ensuring relevance and alignment with overall program objectives. 2) Acting as a strategic partner to business lines to enhance their preparedness for incidents that may disrupt normal operations through health checks on plans and BCP application data. 3) Maintaining essential notification lists, training schedules, and on-call rosters. 4) Managing updates to business continuity plans.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the financial sector.
- Strong analytical capabilities.
- Exceptional written communication skills and proficiency in report preparation.
- Creative and adaptable thinker with the ability to navigate business trade-offs, generate innovative solutions, and manage uncertainty; proactively identify and resolve complex challenges affecting management and business direction.
- Excellent organizational abilities.
- Capacity to prioritize multiple competing interests in a dynamic environment.
- Experience in Business Continuity Management is an advantage.
