Key Responsibilities:- Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities in their daily routines, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Assist individuals with developmental disabilities in developing and maintaining daily living skills, such as cooking, cleaning, and time management.
- Support individuals with developmental disabilities in accessing community resources and services, such as healthcare, education, and recreational activities.
- Collaborate with other support workers, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive support and care for individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Document and report on individual progress, challenges, and concerns to ensure effective support and care.
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities an asset.
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Criminal record check.
As a Developmental Service Worker, you will work in a fast-paced environment, often under pressure, and may be required to lift up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs). You will work in a team environment, collaborating with other support workers and caregivers to ensure comprehensive support and care for individuals with developmental disabilities.
