This role reports directly to the Pharmacy Manager and involves the precise and timely receipt, preparation, and delivery of prescriptions. You will be responsible for maintaining adequate inventory levels to meet patient needs and providing counsel with appropriate documentation to all patients. Additionally, you will engage in friendly, proactive interactions with both internal and external customers, while also promoting awareness and educating customers through public relations initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:- Accurately prepare, dispense, and manage medications for patients in a timely manner.
- Ensure sufficient inventory levels of medications and over-the-counter supplements to fulfill patient requirements.
- Provide patient counseling regarding new and additional medications, fostering a friendly and proactive environment.
- Engage in public relations activities to create awareness and educate customers (e.g., public health days, clinics).
- Address patient needs and resolve doctors' requests/issues promptly and positively.
- Monitor and manage costs effectively within the Loblaw Pharmacy dispensary.
- Deliver ongoing training for new and existing pharmacy colleagues, including technicians, interns, students, and IPGs.
- A Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and a valid Class A Pharmacists license are essential.
- Exceptional customer relations skills and a strong sense of professionalism are required.
- Proven leadership and performance management abilities are necessary.
- Experience in utilizing community-based marketing strategies to enhance business growth.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities, including experience in formulating and executing action plans.
- Proficient personal computing skills, with knowledge of the Healthwatch Pharmacy Computer system being a definite asset.
