About Insulspan:
As a subsidiary of PFB Corporation, Insulspan has consistently achieved significant growth and is well-positioned to meet the anticipated increase in demand for sustainable building solutions. Our top-quality SIPs are meticulously produced at our facilities in Michigan and British Columbia, catering to a rapidly growing clientele across North America.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Analyze architectural drawings and provide guidance on optimal SIP configurations.
- Address inquiries from clients, architects, and sales personnel regarding SIP specifications and installation procedures.
- Train and mentor the internal design team on engineering standards and practices.
- Develop proficiency in hsbcad, an AutoCAD extension, to resolve issues and enhance the software for improved design efficiency.
- Oversee Insulspan's compliance documentation and maintain relationships with evaluation services.
- Assess and propose strategies for expanding Insulspan's testing data and compliance documentation.
- Update and manage Insulspan's Technical Manual, which includes design standards, installation guidelines, technical bulletins, and product information.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create technically accurate and compelling promotional materials.
- Establish partnerships with external engineering firms to validate SIP designs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Architectural, or Mechanical Engineering.
- EIT certification is mandatory; PE license in at least one state is preferred.
- Capability to obtain PE License in additional jurisdictions.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in engineering for residential and/or commercial structures.
- Expertise in analyzing and designing wood structural systems and reviewing construction documents.
- Familiarity with the SIP sector or knowledge of energy efficiency and building regulations is advantageous.
- Exhibit a high standard of professionalism and integrity.
- Strong organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in computer applications, including AutoCAD Architecture.
- Willingness to travel as necessary.
Employment Conditions:
This position requires presence in our office. The role may involve travel to various locations as needed.
