We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Sault Area Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of exceptional patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the treatment of patients with respiratory problems, including setting up, operating, and maintaining various oxygen, therapeutic gas, and mist inhalation equipment.
- Determine the most suitable method of administering inhalants and procedures in accordance with doctors' orders.
- Notify medical and nursing personnel of any adverse reactions and participate in in-service and patient education.
- Respond to cardiac arrests and perform all duties in accordance with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario professional standards and the Registered Health Professionals Act (RHPA).
- Graduate of a recognized Respiratory Therapy program – 3 year diploma.
- Current registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario in good standing.
- Knowledge of department, organization, and professional standards and relevant legislation; RHPA and Respiratory Therapy Act (RTA).
- Customer service, interpersonal, and telephone skills.
- Computer literacy in a Microsoft environment.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate to perform the duties of the position.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently as a team member in a fast-paced environment in stressful situations.
