Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and Maintain Heavy Trucks: Drive and maintain a variety of heavy trucks, including straight and articulated trucks, to transport goods and materials.
  • Plan and Adjust Routes: Use computer equipment and GPS systems to plan and adjust routes, minimizing fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
  • Load and Unload Goods: Safely load and unload goods, ensuring accurate and efficient handling of cargo.
  • Perform Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring all equipment is in good working order.
  • Communicate with Dispatch: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, ensuring timely and efficient communication.
  • Record and Maintain Logs: Accurately record and maintain logs of cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
Requirements
  • Class 1/1F/A Licence: Possess a valid Class 1/1F/A licence for semi-trailer trucks.
  • Valid Driver's Licence: Hold a valid driver's licence.
  • Steel-Toed Safety Boots: Possess steel-toed safety boots.
  • Basic Security Clearance: Hold a basic security clearance.
  • Valid Passport: Possess a valid passport.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Experience in Heavy Haulage: Previous experience in heavy haulage or a related field.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions

As a Truck Driver with Big League Transport Inc, you will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You will be required to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. You will also be required to travel for extended periods, including overnight stays.
