About the Role:

As a Senior Technical Consultant in Financial Risk, you will collaborate closely with project managers to deploy risk management solutions tailored for energy sector clients. A robust financial background, particularly in mathematical modeling and economic principles, is essential for this position.

Your Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Interpreting and converting client business needs into effective technical solutions.
  • Engaging in the design and architecture of applications.
  • Planning and developing essential components of applications.
  • Conducting comprehensive application testing and quality assurance.
  • Creating all necessary documentation, including specifications, designs, systems, training, and user manuals.
  • Installing and configuring the client’s platform technologies and solutions.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of industry trends and technological advancements through proactive learning.
  • Delivering presentations to internal teams and clients as needed.
  • Providing mentorship to fellow consultants as required.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in financial mathematical modeling and econometrics.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Willingness to travel internationally.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree in Economics is preferred).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with GUI technologies based on Java and .Net, including the design of user-friendly help screens and menus.
  • Experience with relational database technologies such as DB2 or Oracle.
  • Professional Risk Manager (PRM) certification (or in progress) through PRMIA.
  • Knowledge of software design methodologies.
  • Experience with business intelligence tools and technologies.
  • Understanding of testing and validation techniques in software engineering.

Travel Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel internationally approximately 50% of the time, as this role primarily involves client-facing responsibilities.
  • Remote work options may be available for qualified candidates.
