About the Role

Vital Society is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team in a group home setting. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to clients with special needs.

Main Responsibilities
  • Client Assessment and Support: Conduct thorough assessments of clients' skill levels and development needs, and provide individualized support to help them achieve their goals.
  • Housekeeping and Maintenance: Perform housekeeping tasks, including cleaning and laundry, to maintain a safe and healthy living environment.
  • Food Preparation and Service: Assist with food preparation and serve meals to clients in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Supervision and Accompaniment: Supervise clients during activities and outings, and provide accompaniment to appointments and other events as needed.
  • Security and Safety: Ensure the security and safety of clients and staff by following established protocols and procedures.
Requirements
  • Education and Training: No formal education required, but training provided on the job.
  • Experience and Skills: Previous experience working with clients with special needs, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently.
  • Background and Driving Record: Background check and driving record check required.
  • Immunization and Medical Requirements: Immunization records necessary, and must be able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
