Senior Analyst for US IPO Research

About the Role

Smartkarma is seeking a senior analyst or analyst team to build ongoing research coverage of all US IPOs and direct listings with an expected deal size of $100mn or higher, excluding closed-end funds and SPACs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data-Driven Research: Develop a data-driven methodology to score and rank deals, providing actionable insights to institutional clients.
  • Pre-IPO Company Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of pre-IPO companies, including financial modeling and valuation.
  • Pre-IPO Fundamental Research: Conduct fundamental research on pre-IPO companies, including market analysis and competitive landscape.
  • Pre-IPO Valuation and Pricing Insights: Provide pre-IPO valuation and pricing insights to institutional clients.
  • Post-IPO Trading Summary: Provide post-IPO trading summaries to institutional clients.
  • Post-IPO Lock-Up Expiry Preview: Provide post-IPO lock-up expiry previews to institutional clients.
Additional Responsibilities
  • High-Touch Service: Offer a high-touch service for select institutional clients, including pre-deal positioning, market intelligence, and post-deal lock-up expiry trades.
  • Desk Access: Provide desk access to institutional clients, including email, messaging, and direct calls.
Qualifications
  • Extensive Research Experience: 5+ years of research experience for institutional clients.
  • US Equity Capital Markets Expertise: Demonstrated expertise and network within US equity capital markets.
  • Research Writing Skills: Demonstrated ability to write research reports.
